THE PROBLEM
If youβve ever tried to βforward press,β you know that you need to position your hands ahead of the ball for it to work β either at the address or at the moment of impact. Itβs not an easy thing to learn or execute, but almost all the best golfers in the world do it because it helps them get their putts rolling faster and truer. Think of forward pressing like βhitting upβ with your driver. With a forward shaft lean, itβs easier to create an upward putter swing at impact that encourages a faster forward ball roll (i.e. reduced skidding, backspin, etc.).
THE SOLUTION
PressGrips eliminate the need for golfers to consciously βforward press.β The forward lean of the putter shaft is established through the grip design, eliminating yet another variable in the putting stroke. Weβre all about eliminating variables!
HOW IT WORKS
PressGrips achieve what we call an β Integrated Forward Pressβ through their design. Unlike other putter grips, which generally see the shaft travel through the center of their axis, PressGrips are installed through the gripβs elliptical shape, which is off-axis by either 1.5 degrees, 2 degrees, or 3 degrees depending on the model.
We recommend that golfers use 2-degree and 3-degree PressGrip models with our DF 2.1 putter. With our DF3, MEZZ.1 MAX, and MEZZ.1 putters, golfers will be happy with either a 1.5-degree or 2-degree PressGrip for a neutral hand position, or a 3-degree PressGrip if they like a little more shaft lean.
HOW DO I KNOW IF ITS WORKING?
Itβs actually quite obvious. Those putts you hit that bounce and skip and skid off the putter face and bound into the air? Youβll see a lot less of that with our grips. Maybe none at all.
And if you do continue to experience these issues, our team will jump on the phone and troubleshoot with you. Itβs usually related to something minor (putter loft, hand position, ball position).
WHAT MODEL IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Because the science behind each grip is the same, you really canβt go wrong. And because different golfers have different preferences, we offer multiple models with varying shapes, sizes, and weights.
