The Volvik V2 laser rangefinder is a portable optical-electronic device with distance and hold compensation as well as vibration functions. The rangefinder emits invisible, eye-safe infrared energy pulses reflected back to the optical unit from the observed target, and calculates the distance by measuring the time each pulse takes to travel from the rangefinder to the target and back.
The rangefinder’s accuracy is plus/minus one yard/meter under normal circumstances. The maximum range of the instruments depends on the reflectivity and color of the target. In addition, the light conditions (sunlight) influence the distance information of the device. The less (overcast sky), the greater the maximum range of the device; on very sunny days, however, the maximum range of the device is lower.
The maximum range for highly reflective objects (white house) is 990 yards/900 meters, and the golf flag can reach 250 yards/230 meters.
